Prudden works at the women's prision in Vandalia

A Bowling Green native has received a new job appointment from Missouri Governor Jay Nixon.
BOWLING GREEN, MO. --
Cynthia Prudden has been appointed to a state board that is responsible for deciding whether or not to grant parole to inmates.

Since 2004 she has served as the warden of the women's prison in Vandalia, Missouri.

Prudden's appointment will still need to be confirmed by the state Senate.

If approved her term would expire in April of 2015.
