A University of Iowa staff member was hurt today when balloons filled with gas exploded in his school-issued vehicle.

You can see the damage to the vehicle in this video.

The man filled four balloons with hydrogen and four with a hydrogen-oxygen mix.

The balloons exploded when he opened the vehicle's side door.

He was taken to the Hospital For treatment.
