Jury selection began Wednesday in the double murder case against a former Adams County resident.

Fort Campbell Sgt. Brent Burke is accused of killing his estranged wife and her former mother-in-law in 2007.

A judge granted a mistrial in the case last September.

The News-Enterprise in Hardin County, Kentucky reports attorneys on both sides spent the day chipping away at a pool of 70 potential jurors.

The first question asked if anyone had heard or read anything about the 2007 shooting deaths.

That question resulted in numerous people being struck from the panel.

Burke graduated from Unity High School in 1996
