SPRINGFIELD, ILL. (AP) -- Get ready for cattle, corn dogs and concerts. It's time for the Illinois State Fair.
The fair begins its 10-day run Friday.
This year's concerts include Lady Antebellum, Cheap Trick, Selena Gomez and Darius Rucker.
A Kiss tribute band will also appear, so officials are holding a Kiss costume contest.
With everyone struggling to make ends meet, the fair is offering more freebies.
A free performance of the Broadway show "Million Dollar Quartet" is scheduled for Monday.
And free samples of Illinois food will be available every day at the Agriculture Department tent.
Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 13.
