The Quincy Public School district has cancelled all field trips for the upcoming year.
That's to absorb a 40-percent statewide transportation funding cut made by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn
Superintendent Lonny Lemon says it was not an easy decision to make, but the cut was necessary
Lemon says without it normal transportation services might have had to be paid for from the education fund.
It is not yet known how much money will be saved by cancelling field trips.
