CHICAGO (AP) -- The state of Illinois could have your missing money or property.

Later this month, the Illinois treasurer's office is set to publish the names of more than 62,000 new owners of unclaimed property.

The state says they're owed more than $35 million.

Unclaimed property can include bank accounts, safe deposit boxes and life insurance policies.

The names of new people with unclaimed property worth more than $100 and reported to the state have to be published twice a year in February and August.

The names will be published in newspapers.

All told, the treasurer's office has $1.4 billion dollars in unclaimed property that belongs to more than 10 million residents and businesses.
