TAYLOR, MO. -- Horseback riders now have an easier way to get onboard their horses at HIS Ranch.  A handicapped accessible ramp was built with the help of the Kiwanis Aktion Club.  Before the ramp, the staff members had to lift the riders up these stairs.  Now, it's easier for the staff and for the horses.

"The ramp provides us a wonderful opportunity to be able to roll the people up to the horse and the horse can walk right up to it and it just has worked well," said Shannon Haerr.

"It's the first Aktion Club project and it was one by people with disabilities, for people with disabilities and they raised the money and the people here and The Transitions staff and the Kiwanis all did the work and put it together," said Transitions Case Manager Laurie Morrison.

HIS Ranch is located in Taylor, Missouri and provides therapeutic horseback riding services to people with disabilities.
