7 new counties added, 6 of them in northeast missouri
JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Government agencies in northeast Missouri will get some much needed disaster relief money from the federal government.
Governor Jay Nixon announced that the federal government granted the request for federal assistance on Thursday.
A total of 29 counties are included in the disaster declaration
6 out of the 7 new counties that were added are in northeast missouri.
Those couties are : Marion, Knox, Monroe, Pike, Ralls and Shelby counties.
With this disaster declaration local governments can get reimbursed for their costs of responding to the storms and repairing the damage left behind.
