IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Police have ticketed nearly 150 people for various alcohol-related violations as part of a crackdown to reduce problems during tailgating at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.
The Gazette in Cedar Rapids is reporting that 146 tickets were written but only seven people were taken to jail.
The University of Iowa started the "Think Before You Drink" campaign last month to cut down on incidents at Kinnick Stadium on game day.
The restrictions are aimed at stopping all alcohol consumption in university parking lots one hour after the end of the game and stopping all tailgating two hours after the game ends.
Some fans say they don't think the restrictions will last and that enforcing the new rules will be challenging considering the large number of people who attend the games.
