SPRINGFIELD, ILL. (AP) -- More than 1,000 emergency management professionals from across Illinois will be in Springfield this week for training on disaster preparedness.

The 13th annual emergency management conference is sponsored by Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

Several speakers and breakout sessions will be conducted Wednesday and Thursday.

They include sessions on the Oklahoma City bombing led by the case's lead prosecutor Joseph Hartzler.

Dr. Bernard Heiliciser of the Illinois Medical Emergency Response Team will lead a discussion of the response to the Haiti earthquake, while Larry Collins of the Los Angeles County Fire Department will talk about search and rescue operations there.
