SPRINGFIELD, ILL. (AP) -- A 1918 tractor will "float" out of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.

The John Deere all-wheel-drive tractor was part of the just-completed exhibit called "The Agricultural Vision of Abraham Lincoln."

The two-ton tractor will be moved out Thursday on a bed of compressed air to keep from damaging the museum's stone floor.

The technology was developed by Airfloat LLC in Decatur.

The museum's next temporary exhibit called "Team of Rivals" will open Oct. 14.

It will have artifacts and displays about Lincoln's selection of a cabinet after his 1860 election, and the events that pushed the nation into civil war.

That will include a section on the 1861 bombardment of Fort Sumter.
