QUINCY, ILL. -- Hundreds of people indulged in some of the Tri-States' best barbeque Saturday. As and end to Quincy's Smoke on the River, grill masters spent most of the day cooking up their specialties for the 4th annual competition. Locals took turns tasting a variety chicken, brisket, pulled pork, wings and sausage.

We asked local grill masters what they hoped to take home at the end of the day.

"I'm hoping to get first place in one of the categories," said Larry Ely, with Ely's BBQ in Quincy. "The last one we ever placed in was first place in briket and that was our first year we cooked out here, so I'm hoping we get another blue ribbon."

"We're hoping to not embarrass purselves and finish in the middle of the pack, hopefully," said David Jones, who partnered with the Martinis 515 team.

Five thousand dollars in total prize money was up for grabs including a $1,000 grand prize.
