Members of the Big Brother, Big Sister of West Central Illinois had their annual reunion picnic today. It was a chance for all of the "bigs" and "littles" to enjoy a nice day together. They decorated cupcakes, and played with play-doh. They also had an egg-toss competition. Kaytlin Vinyard and Avery Gramke were the winners of that. They were matched in November.
"We go to the park, watch movies, we do crafts, just spend time together... just do what big brothers and big sisters would do," said Vinyard.
"I don't think you can have too many good role models and I look at it as a proactive organization rather than a reactive organization and if we're allowed to do our job correctly I think we won't have a lot of kids that later become consumers of other social service agencies," said Program Director Kathy Brink.
The organization is in the middle of its 100 Mentors in 100 Days program.
