QUINCY, ILL. -- 17 Tri-State nonprofit organizations received grants this morning to help improve operations Tuesday, September 21st.

The unrestricted endowment grants were from the Community Foundation of the Quincy Area.

The grants totaled more than $13,000 and represented a wide range of local donations.

Chairman of the Community Foundation Philip Krupps says these grants are extremely important in helping non profit organizations continue doing what they do.

"These organizations do a tremendous job and I guarantee that in some way, shape or form it touches our lives individually if not in multiple ways," said Krupps.

As of Tuesday morning the Community Foundation awarded more than 750 grants totaling more than $1.2 million.
