KEOKUK, IOWA -- FEMA will open a federal disaster recovery center in Keokuk tomorrow.

That office will be inside the River City Mall, 300 Main Street in Keokuk.  Hours of operation are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 12 p.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.  Hours will change next week to 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12 p.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, October 2.

Any Lee County resident with damage from either flooding or storms this past summer can talk in person with a FEMA representative about clean-up, repairs and home improvements for future storms.

So far, FEMA has approved more than $250,000 for individuals in Lee County who had flood or storm damage in June, July or August.

Call 1-800-621-3362  or go to DisasterAssistance.gov for more information.  The deadline to apply for assistance is October 13.
