Before you take a bite of your salad, you need to listen to this KHQA Alert.
Dole has recalled one of its bagged salad mixes because a sample tested positive for E. Coli.
The company says it was sold in Illinois and neighboring states.
Here's what you need to look for.
The salad is labelled Dole Hearts Delight. It's a blend of romaine, green leaf and butter lettuce hearts.
The bags list a "best if used by" date of September 19, 2007. You can find that in the upper right hand corner on the front of the bag.
They also contain one of the two production codes listed on your screen.
The company says no one has reported getting sick from eating this salad.
But check your fridge, if you have any of this bagged salad, throw it out.
Both HyVee stores in Quincy received notice from their corporate office that the company didn't have any of this bagged salad from the plant in question, but all of it was pulled from HyVee store shelves just in case.
