HAMILTON, ILL. -- Close to five hundred people from across the United States and Canada made it out for the 6th Annual Geode Fest in Hamilton, Illinois.
These might look like just rocks, but the insides are crystallized.
Hunters searched through privately owned land for the geodes
There are booths that display geodes found on previous trips.
"Anything in this area that has kind of a gray shade or kind of a light tan color and is spherical in shape will be a geode," said geologist Mike Shumate.
There are two trips Saturday, one at 8 a.m. and one at 1 p.m.
Registration is at 7 a.m.
