QUINCY, ILL. -- A very special award was given out to one Quincy boy scout Sunday night.
Judson "Jack" Green received the 2010 Distinguished Citizen award.
Boy, and girl scouts, young and old were in attendance.
Green and other scouts who attended the National Jamboree in 1964 lead the group in singing God Bless America.
He says he was surprised and is honored to win this award.
"It was the foundation for my life. My whole family was active in scouting. Believe it or not between my father, who's passed away, my mother, my sister, and I, we've had over 100 years of boy scouting and girl scouting so it really was our life here in Quincy. I admire so much, the boy scouts, and girl scouts, for giving young people a really great start in life," said award winner Jack Green
The Boy Scouts of America is celebrating it's 100th year of scouting.
