FORT MADISON, IOWA -- Fort Madison, Iowa residents get a chance to shape the future of their town at a community forum.
Main Street Iowa representatives will be in Fort Madison Wednesday, September 29 at 6:00 p.m. to hear new ideas from community members.
Fort Madison's Main Street group is already working to revitalize and develop the historic downtown commerical district, but the group wants to make sure every voice is heard and every idea is presented.
A "community conversation" will be held at Fort Madison Elks Lodge, 719 Avenue H.
Fort Madison Main Street Director Mary Ottoson says she's hoping for a good turnout because the community's input will be considered as the local group sets its goals.
Main Street Iowa is touted as one of the top strategic planning and economic development groups in the nation.
Ottoson took over the local director's position last month.
The local Main Street Board already has some plans in the works.
