Power outage in Quincy affected thousands

A little more than two thousand Ameren Illinois power customers were without electricity on Friday, October 1.

A power outage map provided by Ameren shows 2,135 customers affected in the 62301 zip code, and 68 customers affected in the 62305 zip code.

Ameren reports a squirrel caused the outage.

Customers were without power for a little over an hour late Friday morning.
