CHICAGO (AP) -- The Illinois Department of Employment Security has good news on the job front.
Officials say state employers have added 46,900 new jobs since August of last year.
That data was released yesterday and comes from the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Officials say the state has created more than 180,000 jobs since January of 2004.
The sectors that had the most new jobs are professional and business services, leisure and hospitality and educational and health services.
The agency's director James Sledge says the gain of jobs shows state officials are making smart decisions that affect the state's economy.
