HANNIBAL, MO. -- The domestic violence that led to a Hannibal woman's murder has been captured in a very dramatic way.

The Friday edition of
The Hannibal Courier-Post will report on a new stage production involving the birth mother of Amanda R. Thomas.

The 27-year-old mother and a friend, 25-year-old Patrick Epley, were stabbed to death in Hannibal on February 28th of last year.

Thomas' former boyfriend, 33-year-old illegal Mexican immigrant
Manuel Cazares, has been charged with second-degree murder and will go to trial Jan. 31.

Thomas' birth mother is a Quincy native who now lives outside Lincoln, Nebraska.

She told the Courier-Post she hopes the play will help showcase the need for more attention to domestic violence.
