Mobile shredder on hand for community members

FT. MADISON, IA. -- Nearly ten million Americans fall victim to identity theft every year.

The best way to avoid identity theft is shredding anything containing personal information.

Pinnacle Foods along with Money Management International and Cintas Document Management help folks in Fort Madison do just that Friday, October 22nd.

A mobile shredding truck was parked in Pinnacle Foods parking lot for several hours.

"Bank statements, old car loan papers, just about everything that was in my basement for the past 30 years. This was kind of a one stop shopping, just dump it all and it's done," said Pam Bierwirth, who otherwise would have those items building up in her basement.

All documents were shredded immediately in the truck and taken to a secure facility for recycling.
