18-year-old WIU student Cameron McKoy facing class III felony
MACOMB, ILL. -- The WIU student arrested for calling in a fake bomb threat Monday, October 25th made his first appearance in court Tuesday, October 26th.
18-year-old Cameron McKoy is facing a class III felony disorderly conduct charge.
He could face anywhere from two to five years in prison and a minimum $3,000 fine.
McKoy is accused of calling the front desk of Tanner Hall and telling the clerk there was a bomb in the dorm.
No evidence of explosive devices were ever found.
The office of public safety was able to track the call to his cell phone and make the arrest.
When he was arrested McKoy allegedly told police he made the call because he was interested in seeing how long it would take police to respond.

His next court appearance is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on November 10th.
