QUINCY, ILL. -- Twelve sets of petitions have been picked up from the Quincy School District office for the position of school board. That includes current president Bud Niekamp.
He picked up two sets of petitions yesterday.
Niekamp's official status on the current school board is still working its way through the court system after his attorney appealed this summers' quo warranto decision.
Judge Dian Lagoski ruled Niekamp's 2009 election to the school board void because he was sitting on the county board at the time.
The appeal of that case could take months.
So far, twelve sets of petitions have been picked up.
