SPRINGFIELD, ILL. (AP) -- Illinois' year-old hospital report card has been updated with new information about children's care and emergency rooms.
Patients can use the website to see how their hospitals measure up on quality and safety.
The state has added data that can indicate crowded emergency departments and pediatric quality. And there's a statewide report on dangerous drug-resistant staph infections.
Illinois Department of Public Health Director Damon Arnold says information can help consumers make better choices when they need hospital care.
The report card launched last November, six years after the Legislature passed the law requiring hospitals to make the data public.
