ADAMS COUNTY, ILL. -- United Way of Adams County has reached the final stage of the 2010 Campaign and campaign officials are enthusiastic about what the end result will be. To date, the campaign has raised $633,984 or 56% of the $1,125,000 goal.

“There are still a few question marks out there with regard to some of the larger company campaigns but we’re optimistic for these final weeks,” said Campaign Chairman Mike Mahair, President of State Street Bank.

Recently Hollister-Whitney Elevator Corporation reported a 12% increase in their employee and corporate gifts, Alter Scrap Processing ran a successful employee campaign and Burlington-Northern, Inc. employees participated in the campaign for the first time.

The campaign is roughly 10% ahead of where it was at this time last year and that’s with two of the largest campaign contributors, Blessing Health System and Knapheide Manufacturing, yet to report their final total.

“The goal is within our reach and it will be exciting to see results from the remaining accounts yet to be processed,” Mahair added. “We have had many high points throughout the campaign and we hope that our final number will reflect the dedication of our many volunteers and the commitment this community has to helping each other.”

Throughout every campaign, United Way strives to recruit new individual and corporate donors while maintaining strong relationships with previous donors. Thus far there are more than 400 individual givers in this year’s campaign who have contributed for the first time. Their gifts total nearly $24,000. There have also been eight new businesses contribute this year.

Campaign Wrap Up is scheduled for Monday, November 22, 2010 at 5 pm. The event will be held at the United Way Office at 936 Broadway, Suite F.
