MONTICELLO, MO. -- Veterans Day celebrations continued today across the Tri-States.
Highland High School's History Club put a program together to honor not only Veterans in Lewis County, but Veterans across the country.
"Veterans Day is a day we take to thank our Veterans and I think we should take more than just one day because they're serving everyday," said Garrett Gray.
Two students from the high school spoke about what Veteran's Day means to them.
"I am really thankful for all of our veterans and for what they've done for us and I watch the news and what other countries go through and we don't have to go through those things because of what our Veterans did and I'm just very very thankful for them," said Sydney Luttrull.
The ceremony had a 21 gun salute and taps played.
Donald Richmond from the American Legion Post 578 also spoke about honoring veterans.
"I think its great that the young people are here that there are people out there that can't get out especially the Veterans Home in Quincy and St. Louis and so forth. They get to see pieces on the TV where they know somebody is out there putting time and effort in on their behalf," said Commander of Post 578 Donald Richmond.
