TAYLOR, MO. -- UPDATE: November 24 at 3:19 p.m.
34-year-old Chadrick R. Dietrich, of Canton, Missouri has been formally charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action.
He has also been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and is being held in jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.
The adult victim is still hospitalized and the 12-year-old was treated and released on Wednesday.
No mug shot has been taken as of Wednesday afternoon and the names of the two victims have not been released.

Hannibal Courier-Post reports that two people were stabbed during a domestic dispute near Taylor, Mo. on Tuesday.
Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Shinn said the stabbing occurred inside a vehicle on US 61 when a 31-year-old woman was giving her estranged husband a ride back to his home in Canton.
The 34-year old suspect allegedly stabbed the woman and a 12-year-old child who were later taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Two other children were unharmed.
The 12-year-old child was released after treatment and the children were put in the care of relatives.
Shinn declined to release the name of the suspect until formal charges are filed. The suspect was arrested for first-degree assault, armed criminal action and endangering the welfare of a child. The investigation continued Wednesday morning.
