Kicking off the holiday shopping season
While shoppers hit the stores early to find the best bargains in town, Black Friday is also a great opportunity for businesses.
We stopped in at JC Penny in the Quincy Mall Friday, November 26th at around 7:30AM.
A store manager said the crowd had died down a little, but it had been a busy morning.
He said about 50 people were waiting outside the store before the doors opened.
JC Penny actually opened an hour earlier than scheduled to get a jump start on this important day for businesses.
"It really kicks off the holiday season for us. We're looking at having quality merchandise at a good price, with the economic conditions we have it's very important this year to have some compelling prices that make for good gift giving," said JC Penny Manager Tom Meulemans.
JC Penny usually has between 30 and 40 employees on handm, Black Friday though it was all hands on deck as 80 employees were working.
