Turning your yard into a winter wonderland for song birds is pretty easy.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources offers a number of tips for bird lovers.

First of all, start early, song birds pick their favorite feeding grounds early in the season.

Stock a variety of foods, and put each in a separate feeder.

Use a squirrel proof feeder.

Provide a bird bath for cleaning and drinking.
