MACOMB, ILL. -- A Macomb man was arrested earlier this week for an incident involving an alleged domestic battery and the killing of a cat.

Macomb Police Department officers arrested 34 year old Johnathan A. Lackey for domestic battery late Tuesday night.

During an interview with Lackey, blood was discovered on his boot.

He told officers it was from killing a cat.

An investigation found that Lackey had allegedly stomped on the head of a cat and then disposed of the body.

Lackey was charged with domestic battery and aggravated cruel treatment of an animal.

He is lodged in the McDonough County Jail.
