QUINCY, ILL. -- Blessing Health System started its 28th annual Christmas Care basket drive Friday.

Employees of Blessing Hospital and students from St. Peter's School sorted out food for the baskets.

They will be giving the baskets to sixty-two families in need this holiday season.

One Blessing employee says giving is just part of the season.

"There's a lot of people who have a lot of needs this time of the year. Whether it be you have a high gas bill or you have extra Christmas presents to buy. We have a lot of people with big big hearts here who like to help out, whether it be time or food, or monetary donations, to just lend a helping hand to others who may be in need," said Daphne Akers with Blessing Hospital.

The baskets will be packed up Tuesday, and given out later in the week.
