QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy Notre Dame students want to remind you to not drink and drive during the holiday.

Saturday afternoon, Students Against Destructive Decisions helped spread the message at the Hardees drive-thru at 30th Street and Broadway.

These volunteers asked drivers to attach red ribbons on their cars as a visual reminder to drive safely.

"We both drive and we firmly believe in no drunk driving, because it helps save lives," said Makenzie Meyer, a Senior at QND.

"When you drunk drive, you're not only risking your own life, but you're endangering everyone around you. And I think it's important to think about that and just not do it," said Breanne Meyer, a Junior at QND.

The Red Ribbon Campaign has become a nationwide project for the last 23 years. Red Ribbon Events will go through the first of the year.
