SPRINGFIELD, ILL. -- Story by: Anne Kelly / WCIA-3

The FBI is looking at the toys for sale this holiday season.

And they're worried about Barbie.

This "high tech" version of the classic opens the world of video sharing to young girls.

The FBI worries it could get into the hands of pedophiles.

She's been everything from a pizza chef to a preschool teacher.

Now Barbie's a video camera, and the FBI says, a potential tool for creating child porn.

"If a sex offender can't get it through one means they'll find another," one parent says.

It's why the FBI has alerted officers across the country, telling them not to ignore this doll when searching for evidence against a potential pedophile.

The camera is where Barbie's necklace should be and some parents say they're not so much worried about pedophiles as they are about their children posting videos online.

It's why Tara Baughman says her five year old daughter may not be getting everything on her Christmas wish list.

"I'm worried she's going to not realize what she's taking pictures of or video of and whenever we save it to the computer I don't want it to be downloaded all over the internet," says Tara Baughman.

And because Barbie makes sharing online as easy as 1, 2, 3, other parents worry their children will voluntarily send out videos.

"You have young girls that get online and talk to people and don't even realize who they're talking to," says parent Holly Rosa.

Valid concerns to this Grandpa but he says he still trusts Video Girl Barbie in the hands of his granddaughter.

"I'm sure this provides a lot of enjoyment for kids and I just can't imagine the FBI being that concerned over something like this," says Jerry Zuspann.

The FBI, and parents, worry this high tech toy will turn into anything but fun.

While parents do have multiple concerns, the FBI says they shouldn't because of their alert.

The warning it issued was meant to give a heads up to law enforcement who are gathering evidence.
