The FBI in St. Louis honored three people who played important roles in the rescue of 4-year-old Alisa Maier this past summer.
Alisa was kidnapped outside her Louisiana, Missouri home on July 5th.
She was found safe wandering around a carwash in suburban St. Louis, 70 miles from her home, the next day.
The suspected kidnapper, Paul Smith, shot himself when confronted by police that same week.
At a ceremony Friday morning, the FBI is recognized Ashley Gibbs, Kevin McNeely and Neil Tague.
"I don't really feel like a hero. I mean, I don't like to be called that because I would like to think that there are good enough people out there that would have done the same thing," said one of the heros.
Gibbs along with McNeely found Alisa Maier at the carwash in Fenton.
