MACOMB, ILL. (AP) -- Republican leaders in Illinois' 94th House District have chosen a replacement for the seat recently vacated through the death of Representative Rich Myers.
Norine Hammond of Macomb was selected Thursday night after chairmen from six of the seven counties in the district voted.
Hammond served as Myers' legislative aide for 14 years.
Myers died last week after a battle with cancer.
He held the seat for 16 years and was most recently reelected in November.
