QUINCY, ILL. -- Christmas is two weeks away and you're hearing more and more Christmas songs on the radio.
Tonight, however, was all about the Christmas music at the Christmas Magic Family Concert.
The Quincy Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Quincy Area Youth Chorus, and Voices of Praise Gospel Choir all joined together for the holiday concert.
"We all rehearsed separately until last Tuesday, and then last Tuesday everybody came together and we had a rehearsal at the High School," said Director of Quincy Symphony Chorus Dr. Phyllis Robertson.
"What makes it fun and easy is that these are talented young people who love to sing, and they learn parts so quickly and we make great music together," said Director of the Children's Concert Choir Paul Shelor.
"It's fun music, it's familiar music they get to sing with the symphony and be in the big auditorium. It's a great audience as any performer they love to perform," said Shelor.
"It's always fun to sing Christmas music because everybody knows it and the sing-a-long. It's really fun because a lot of times you don't get a chance to sing Christmas carols. So, this is a great time for the audience and for us to all sing Christmas carols together," said Robertson.
"There's months of preparation just in terms of organization but then when it finally comes together and you can play the music for an audience, that's what's really rewarding," said Conductor Bruce Briney.
This is the 5th year of the concert.
