QUINCY, ILL. -- We've all forgotten our phones in one place or another. Many times, they're left in the car. That can be very harmful during this winter's freezing temperatures.
No matter what kind of phone you have, your phone's prone to cracked screens, discoloration and a dead battery if temperatures get too low.
We asked a local Sprint store what you can do to prevent further damage to your phone if left out in the cold.
"To prevent moisture accumulation, whenever this happens, make sure you take off the back of the phone. Pop the battery out and insert the phone into something like a bad of rice to attract the moisture away. This can help prevent problems after powering your phone back up when it's been cold," said Jason Wright, an employee at the Sprint Store Wireless View in Quincy.
Wright says if that doesn't do the trick, you more than likely need to take it in for repairs.
