HANNIBAL, MO. -- A Hannibal church is expanding and wants your help in doing so.
Faith Miracle Ministry Church bought the building across the parking lot from it.
It used to be an old church.
There is a lot of work that needs to be done.
KHQA's Lindsey Boetsch shows you what's in store for the new building.
"We got the church when it was pretty much falling apart, and we had to build it from scratch basically," said youth pastor Joseph Fessenden.
Faith Miracle Ministry has big plans for this abandoned building. The upstairs will be housing for anyone who needs help.
"As they come out of treatment or prison or even for some women that have been abused. They get out of that situation but then life of paying these bills and keeping the heat on and keeping the kids fed many times they go back to that same lifestyle or back to that same abuser because they have no where else to turn," said Pastor Kimberly Britt.
The rooms still need to be painted and drop ceilings need to be put in. There *is an opportunity to adopt a room. You would supply materials and repair the room. Then, you could donate the room with a memorial plaque.
"In most cases, which we've already got a few people doing, is doing it in memory of someone who has died of abuse or addiction and so this brings a way of them sharing their story of how it affected their lives," said Britt.
White Oak Counseling will set up a hub in the office area to provide counseling services. The church also has started collecting donations for the thrift shop that will open up in the basement of the church.
If you would like to donate your time, you can call 573-248-6165 or email Pastor Kimberly Britt at pastorkim@faithmiracle.net.
