Lewis County forgery arrest

LEWIS COUNTY, MO. -- The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of theft and possible forgery on Monday.

After conducting a short investigation a deputy arrested Gary M. Raleigh, age 23, of Ewing, Missouri for theft of checks and also forgery. The alleged amount of money taken was approximately $200.00. 

Raleigh was subsequently charged with Forgery in the Lewis County Associate Court. A warrant was sought by Lewis County Prosecutor Jules V. DeCoster. 

Raleigh is currently held in lieu $10,000.00 cash only bond in the Lewis County Jail.  An Illinois investigation is also pending.
