several acres of land on the east side of the city

PALMYRA, MO. -- Palmyra residents got an early Christmas present from a local family.
Local Doctor Eugene Hinds, his wife June and family donated this 13 acre section of land you see here on the city's South side to the city's Parks and recreation department.
It will be named Hinds Park and will be dedicated to our area educators.
The Palmyra Parks and recreation department is still coming up with a master plan for the land, but it hopes to turn the land into a family play area.
We were told this is a part of town that doesn't have a park for area kids.
Though this park will be the fourth in Palmyra...adding up to a total of more than 400 acres of park ground.
