HAMILTON, ILL. -- If Hamilton city council members vote to adopt a tax increment financing district Monday night, the economic development program could go into effect this month.

The city spent the last two years putting the TIF district together.

It works by raising money from assessed valuation rates, but does not raise property taxes.

Three TIF related ordinances are up for approval.

KHQA will bring you more details as we receive them.
