It took all of one second into the new year for Cook County's newest resident to arrive. That's the word from Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where officials say Alejandra Maya Arroyo was born one second after 2010 turned into 2011.

We scouted out our own New Years babies within the Tri-States.

Hannibal Regional Hospital welcomed its first baby at 7:47 Saturday morning. Nataly Priscilla Martinez came into the world weighing in at 6 pounds and 14 ounces. First time mom, Carolina Ortegon says the delivery was unexpected. Her due date was scheduled for December 24, and when that didn't happen, she figured maybe New Year's Eve.

What she got was a 24-hour delivery ending in a c-section.

"Has it hit you yet that you're a mom? No. I see her and I can't believe she's all mine," said Ortegon.

Quincy's newest parents Kammie and Blake welcomed baby girl Aubrey Elizabeth Terwelp Saturday. Aubrey was born at 9:35 in the morning at Blessing Hospital.

Macomb's newest bundle goes by the name of Janae Nicole Thomas. Born at 6:22 a.m, Janae was welcomed by her mom Jasmine Hopkins.

The stork also dropped into Fort Madison delivering baby boy Carson Holperhaus. Melissa and Curits welcomed him at 5:56 Saturday morning.

The very first baby to arrive in the Tri-States on New Year's day was a girl delivered at 3:30 a.m. in Ft. Madison, though KHQA was not given any specifics on the the family or delivery.

Congratulations to all of our New Year's newborns.
