FORT MADISON, IA. -- About $50,000 worth of damage has been done to a home in Fort Madison after a fire Tuesday morning.

No one was home at 3007 Avenue M when the fire started just before 9:00 this morning.

Firefighters were on the scene for three hours.

There is heavy damage to the back porch and kitchen area.
