ARGYLE, IOWA -- An Argyle, Iowa woman owes her life to her dogs.

Lee County Sheriff's deputies say that shortly after midnight on Friday, Liz Cass was sleeping in her home on Argyle Road.

Her dogs were sleeping on the back porch at the time.

When fire broke out, the dogs broke into the house and woke her up.

She got out of her burning home safely and ran to her parent's home nearby to call for help.

When firefighters arrived flames were coming out of the home.

The home is believed to be a total loss.
