MACOMB, ILL. -- Western Illinois University president Al Goldfarb is giving university students and staff a look at WIU's FY 2011 cash flow.
President Goldfarb told us that WIU is still waiting to hear from Gov. Quinn on the money that the university has still not gotten from the state of Illinois.
They have begun to cut items like equipment and travel expenditures, but they will be able to pay the 9 million dollars spend each month on payroll. The university is basically living off incoming tuition money.
An open letter regarding WIU finances is posted on the university's website. The letter also questions what impact the recently-passed Illinois income tax hike might have on higher education funding.
