ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Parents have been lining up for child identification kits in the months since two kidnapped Missouri boys were found alive.
The kits are often given to families for free by community organizations, and allow parents to turn over recent photos and information to law enforcement officials if a child should go missing.
The safe return of an infant kidnapped from her Franklin County home late 2006, Abby Woods, spurred some increased interest.
But organizations say demand really rose in January after police found Shawn Hornbeck and Ben Ownby in the Kirkwood apartment of Michael Devlin. Devlin pleaded guilty last week to multiple charges.
Some organizations, like the Masons, have given out twice as many ID kits to Missouri families than they did in the previous year.
