Helping residents as much as possible
Quincy crews were out in full force trying to make city roads as passable as possible.
And with no garbage or recycle pick up, all snow plows were able to run around the clock.
KHQA's Jarod Wells rode along on one of the plows for this Winter Storm 2011 report.
Kevin Angel has been plowing the streets of Quincy for the past seven winters. This snow storm is like nothing he has ever seen before.
While snow continued to fall Tuesday crews were focusing on clearing the middle of streets, making sure emergency vehicles were able to get through. Now that the snow has stopped crews are told to plow from curb to curb. Something many people aren't too happy about. Angel and the rest of the snow plow drivers were doing their best to help people shoveling their driveways, but there was only so much they could do. Angel says he realizes people get upset when snow falls back into their recently shoveled driveways, but he says there's nothing they can do they are told to plow from curb to curb to remove as much snow as possible.
Crews hadn't started laying down salt or any other material when we rode along this morning. I was told they were going to get the streets as clear as possible first, and then start laying spreading.
