Here's some things you need to check before you drive it
For those of you whose cars are still buried, either by snowfall or from the plows, you have quite a bit of work before you can melt some snow by burning rubber.
And once your done uncovering your vehicle, theres a few things you need check on your icy ride.
KHQA's Jarod Wells topped in at Niehaus Auto in Quincy to get some safety tips for you once your car finally is brought up from six feet under.
Niehaus Auto Manager Tracy Moore said, "First think I'd recommend would be check your wiper blades before you start the car, make sure they're not frozen down to the windows."
And brush all the heavy snow off, rather than trying to use your windshield wipers to remove it. And the blades are frozen to the window or they're trying to push too much weight you damage the wipers and the gears that move them.
Moore said, "Make sure your headlights, taillights are visible, clear of snow."
Obviously, make sure all your windows are clear and don't skimp when you're clearing off the snow.
Moore said, "Not a bad idea to check the exhaust in the back of the vehicle make that open of any restrictions."
Once the piles of snow are gone, be sure there is nothing lodged into your exhaust pipe. And it's also not a bad idea to clear the snow out of your wheel wells.
